Abstract Submission Guideline (Oral/Poster Presentation)

  1. Abstracts should be prepared in accordance with the instructions below and submitted through the online system. Abstracts should comply with the editing instructions.
  2. Original scientific material is welcome and preference is given to recent findings not yet published at the date of the Meeting.
  3. Abstracts will be peer reviewed and evaluated by experts in one of the categories (topics) listed; they will be allocated for oral or poster presentation. Authors who do not wish to be considered for oral presentation are requested to indicate this when submitting. However, please note, that the Scientific Committee will make the final decision for the type of presentation.
  4. Main author/presenter are requested to register for the congress by October, 2017. Abstracts whose main author/presenter have not made attendance registration will be withdrawn.
  5. Main authors of all the submitted abstracts will receive a notice of acceptance (non-acceptance) as well as the type/time & date of presentation by e-mail during September 2017 . Please make sure to have inserted the correct e-mail address of the main author.
  6. Authors agree that their abstract will be published (printed) in the congress abstract book.

Abstract Editing Instructions (Oral/Poster Presentation)

ABSTRACT TOPICS

For review purposes, abstracts are classified according to the following list.
Select only 1 topic on our submission form:

  • Cervical Cancer
  • Ovarian Cancer
  • Endometrial Cancer
  • Others
  1. Encore abstracts will not be accepted.
  2. Abstracts must be submitted and presented in ENGLISH.
  3. Maximum length (body of abstract) shall be 250 words.
  4. Abstracts should be structured in at least three sections, clearly mentioned as such: Background / Objectives - Methods - Results (optional) - Conclusions. References may be mentioned.
  5. Do not indent spaces on the first line of each paragraph. No space should be inserted between paragraphs. Use international standards for scientific articles.
  6. Only standard abbreviations may be used without definition. Data must be given in units widely used in literature.
  7. Only essential references should be included and put in brackets at the end of the abstract: Numbers in the text may refer to them.
  8. Drugs must be identified by their generic names.
  9. A maximum of nine (9) co-authors, in addition to the primary author, are allowed per submission.
  10. You will automatically be assigned a submission ID at the time you submit, and will be asked to select a Password.
    With this ID and password, you can log into the submission site to reedit your submission until the deadline.
COI DISCLOSURE REQUIREMENTS

All speakers/presenters are asked to disclose any conflict of interest at the time of presentation/on posters for the benefit of conference delegates. To this effect, a slide at the end or beginning of your presentation should contain a summary of conflict(s) of interest.

Surgical Film Submission Guideline

Submission of your surgical film can be completed only after you have made a two-step submission:
>> Step 1. Outline Submission Online

Please register required information and submit an outline (English/within 50 words) of your surgical film online from the homepage of ASGO 2017. The submission deadline is August 31, 2017 .

>> Step 2. DVD/DATA Submission by Post

Please send your surgical film DVD or DATA in MPEG4/WMV format to ASGO 2017 Organizing Secretariat's office. The submission deadline is August 31, 2017 .

Title of a film registered online and title shown on its DVD should be identical so that the online submitted data and its DVD can be matched without problem.

Expenses associated with the submission of a surgical film are the responsibility of the presenter, and are not reimbursed or covered by the ASGO 2017. Surgical films are selected on the basis of scientific merit and through a blinded peer review process .

Surgical Film/Outline Editing Instructions

We request submitted surgical films to pertain to one or more of the following key concepts:

  • Fundamentals of minimally invasive surgery
  • Current evidence and recommendations regarding laparoscopic, robotic and vaginal hysterectomy
  • Prevention, diagnosis, and management of intra and post‐operative complications
  • Specific suturing techniques
  • Extensive surgery

Surgical film submissions will be evaluated based on educational content and audio/visual quality. All films must also meet the following requirements:

  • Films shall be edited focusing around scenes you would particularly like to show.
  • Films cannot exceed five minutes in duration.
  • Films must be at regular speed.
  • Films must be free of commercial or product bias.

Surgical film outlines should be prepared in accordance with the instructions below and submitted through the online system.

  1. Please write your text in English and check your spelling.
  2. A surgical film must have a title that indicates the objective of the demonstration. Capitalize the first word only in the title.
  3. A maximum of nine (9) co-authors, in addition to the primary author, are allowed per submission.
  4. Author names should be written in full. Only include the primary degree for each author (for example, MD, PhD). If an author’s name appears on more than one film, it must be identical on each film.
  5. Within the title and text of the film submission, omit any reference to your institution to ensure proper, blinded review.
  6. Use generic drug names and International Systems Units. Trade names should not be used.
